The late Anthony Yeo devoted his life to counselling work but did not seek awards for it.

Yesterday, he was honoured with a special recognition award by the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC).

Mr Yeo, often called Singapore's 'father of counselling' for being a pioneer of the profession here, was the first local director of the non-profit Counselling and Care Centre, where he later was consultant therapist.
