TWO police sergeants who allegedly conspired to get their hands on a $1,000 wad of cash found at Nanyang Polytechnic in April last year were in the dock for attempted cheating yesterday.

A district court heard that Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid, from the Bedok police division, had logged onto the police database at 8.20pm on April 2 last year and discovered the Clementi division was holding $1,000 in its lost-and-found section.

The 31-year-old is then believed to have contacted a friend and fellow sergeant at the same division, Nazir Ali Khan, 36, with a plan to claim the cash for themselves.
