The organisers of this year's Singapore Hokkien Festival are using song and dance to reach out to the young.

The biennial festival, which will be held at the Singapore Conference Hall from Nov 8 to 16, aims to increase awareness of local Hokkien customs and culture.

The inaugural event launched in 2006 by the Hokkien clan association, Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan, attracted more than 10,000 people.
