Taiwan singer A-sun dies

TAIPEI, TAIWAN - A-sun, a Taiwanese singer known for such melancholic, crystalline songs as Leaves, died of breast cancer in hospital on Monday. She was 34.

She was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer last year after she felt ill at a performance in China in October, said China Times.

She was treated but the cancer spread to the lungs and liver, said the report.
