CEREBOS Pacific is putting its money where its essence is. The Singapore-listed company, which produces Brand's Essence of Chicken, has set up a research facility at the Science Park near Kent Ridge, to prove the value of its health products and improve their efficacy.

It already spends between $2 million and $3 million a year in research collaborations with universities in the region and Japan.

But with the launch of the Brand's Brain Research Centre last week, it is recruiting scientists to boost its research efforts, pushing up its spending by about 50 per cent.
