12 November 2009, Singapore - SPH Magazines Pte Ltd (SPH Magazines), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), today inked a licensing agreement with Globe Media Group (Globe Media), Indonesia's leading media group which is an affiliate of the conglomerate Lippo Group. With this partnership in place, Globe Media will be the publisher of The Peak Indonesia from next year.

Witnessing the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding were Mr James Riady, Chairman of Lippo Group, and Mr Alan Chan, Chairman of SPH Magazines and CEO of SPH. The agreement was signed by Mr Shoeb Kagda, Managing Director of Globe Media, and Mr Dennis Pua, Managing Director of SPH Magazines.

This partnership between the two media groups will take effect from the January 2010 issue of The Peak Indonesia. It will adopt a new design and feature stronger content, following in the footsteps of the other editions of The Peak in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. More importantly, as a result of the partnership, the title will be published 12 times a year, up from the six issues currently.

Globe Media Group is the fastest growing media company in Indonesia and the leader in the English language print section. Its two flagship publications, Globe Asia and The Jakarta Globe, reach more than 150,000 high income readers across Indonesia and the region. Globe Media Group is also acknowledged as a leader in the digital space and has come to be respected for its innovative approach to distributing content.

SPH Magazines is the Publisher of Choice in Singapore and in the region, with about 100 titles in English and Chinese, including its flagship title Her World. SPH Magazines' titles can be found in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Malaysia, The Philippines and Vietnam.

On the licensing of The Peak Indonesia to Globe Media, Mr Pua said: "SPH Magazines is licensing The Peak Indonesia to Globe Media to further grow the brand. We are confident that Globe Media will bring the title to greater heights in terms of both editorial excellence and readership."

Mr Kagda, commenting on the partnership, said: "The Peak Indonesia is an exciting addition to Globe Media's growing stable of publications. We look forward to working closely with SPH to enhance the title in a fast expanding market."

The Peak Singapore, a 25 year-old title, has won numerous awards over the years, including a Silver award for Best in Design (Magazine Overall Design) at the 6th Asian Print Awards, and a Silver award for Best in Design (Magazine Overall Design) at the WAN-IFRA Asia Media Awards this year.
