SINGAPORE - To mark its 12th anniversary, HardwareZone.com has embarked on a unique initiative to celebrate the advancement of technology.
Taking this opportunity to share its own history and milestones with readers as well, a special microsite, www.celebratetechnology.com.sg, has been set up.
The microsite has 3 key sections:
HWZ Chronicle
A look back at the history of HardwareZone.com. From its humble beginnings as Singapore Overclocking Group to present, many interesting facts about Singapore's leading I.T. portal await discovery!
Technology Timelines
This section presents highlights in the history and progression of products such as printers, cameras, laptops and more.
Album of Old Gadgetry
As testament to the rich community heritage at HardwareZone.com, users are not left out of the celebration. Everyone is invited to submit pictures of their old gadgets. The album is a virtual museum that has attracted over 500 submissions to date.
Mr Lim Chuan Jer, General Manager of SPH Magazines, said: "We wanted to pay tribute to the early days of technology, and how it evolved into what we know today. The Album of Old Gadgetry is a great way to showcase how technology has come such a long way and the enthusiastic response we've gotten so far is terrific!"
The Album of Old Gadgetry is currently open for submissions. Users who submit their photographs before 17 June 2010 will be eligible to win some great prizes in a lucky draw, including a Canon IXUS 130 digital camera.
