Models overshadow 'real' stars at expo

JAPAN - The Tokyo Game Show is considered one of the largest video game exhibitions in the world.

This year's show, which opened in Chiba, Japan, on Thursday, has two big stars, Sony's PlayStation 4 and the Microsoft Xbox One.

But that's not all this year's show has to offer.

Also in attendance are many young, sexy models dressed in barely-there outfits, Mail Online reported.

The models made even the most dedicated gamers struggle to keep their eyes on the games they were playing.

Some of the girls were dressed as characters from the games - complete with colourful wigs, skimpy outfits and oversized, futuristic weaponry. Others were provocatively styled.

Think cleavage-baring schoolgirls, with the knee socks and tartan skirts more typically associated with Japanese school uniforms.

In a reversal of the old order, both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One are to go on sale first in the US and Europe in November, instead of in Japan.

Sony and Microsoft both said tailoring the machines for the Japanese market takes more time, but many in the gaming world see the delay as a sign of Japan's loss of its leading role in the industry.
