NEW DELHI - A taxi driver who struck a deal for sex with a 17-year-old boy in Tuglakabad, New Delhi, paid for it with his life when the teenager murdered him for his handphone, reported Tamil Nesan.

The body of 35-year-old Guddu was found in a park near Adilabad Fort in the Tuglakabad area on Nov 24 with his handphone and other belongings missing.

Several drivers at the taxi stand where Guddu had worked then tipped the police off about the teenager.

Police then arrested the teenager at his house in Sangam Vihar.

During interrogation, the teenager told the police that he had met Guddu on the day of the incident on a bus from Karol Bagh to Khanpur, during which the driver had made sexual advances towards him.

The teenager said he wanted the driver’s new handphone, so he led him to Adilabad Fort where he hit him on the head until he was unconscious.

The teenager then fled with the handphone and the Rs50 (S$1.02) found in Guddu’s pocket.
