PETALING JAYA - A businessman lost RM100,000 (S$40,000) after his car was broken into near a bank in Jalan Tembaga, Bandar Sri Damansara.

OCPD Asst Comm Azmi Abu Kassim said the 31-year-old victim had withdrawn the money at a bank in Kota Kemuning before going to the second bank in Jalan Tembaga on Wednesday afternoon.

"The money was put inside a bag and he placed it under the passenger seat and covered it with his jacket. It was left in his car. When he returned to the car, he found the window broken. That was when he noticed that the money was gone," he said.

ACP Azmi added that according to the victim, no one witnessed the incident.

"He told us that he had asked around if anyone witnessed the incident but everyone claimed that they didn't see anything," he said.

He told the police that the money was meant to be used to pay his workers' salary.
