5 teenagers nabbed for series of motorcycle thefts

PETALING JAYA - Five teenagers, aged between 14 and 17, were arrested in connection with a series of motorcycle thefts in the Subang area.

Sungai Buloh OCPD Supt Junaidi Bujang said the teenagers were apprehended in Kampung Melayu, Subang following an early morning raid on Saturday.

"The task force, comprising 12 officers, detained the first 17-year-old suspect at his house along Jalan Bunga Tanjung at 2.45am.

"The boy revealed the name of his four accomplices upon arrest," he said.

Supt Junaidi said police recovered three motorcycles reported stolen around Kampung Baru Subang.

They also found dismantled parts from three motorcycles at the scene.

Police have remanded the suspects to facilitate investigations.

The case has been classified under Section 379A (1) of the Penal Code for vehicle theft and for keeping stolen items under Section 41 of the same code.
