SINGAPORE - A 41-year-old man was arrested for vandalising a police camera and a notice board on Friday.

Police said in a statement that a member of the public had alerted the authorities on Thursday at about 6.45am that a police camera at the multi-storey carpark at Block 29A Marsiling Drive had been vandalised.

On Friday at about 11.10am, an officer on bicycle patrol noticed that the residents' committee notice board at Block 204 Marsiling Drive had also been vandalised.

Police managed to identify the suspect with the help of video footage from police cameras in the area.

The man was apprehended at Block 204 Marsiling Drive on Friday at 2pm.

He will be charged in court on Saturday (Oct 18) for vandalism.

If found guilty, he could be fined up to $2,000 or jailed for up to 3 years. Offenders can also be sentenced 3 to 8 strokes of the cane.
