The Star/ANN | Tuesday, May 13, 2014

KOTA KINABALU - A 28-year-old woman stabbed her lover to death after she was repeatedly beaten up by him for wrongly chopping vegetables for his meals.

Harian Metro reported that tragedy struck on Saturday night at the couple's rented room in Bandaran Jaya, Kota Kinabalu.

Josyua Jesbon, 30, was angry at her for making the mistake and began abusing her verbally.

The woman ignored the man's scoldings and continued with her work in the kitchen.

"Josyua struck at the woman and punched her repeatedly.

"Initially, she tolerated the pain but eventually she grabbed a knife and stabbed him," a source said. The man was said to have collapsed after being stabbed.

He sought help from a housemate to use his handphone to call for an ambulance. However, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The woman later surrendered herself to the police.

Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Comm Jauteh Dikun confirmed that the case was being investigated. The woman has been detained.
