Firemen pulling one of the bodies out of the lake on Sunday.

PETALING JAYA - The bodies of three men, all believed to be drug addicts, were fished out of a lake near the Batu Caves roundabout Sunday evening.

Police are investigating if the men were those who managed to escape a drug raid in the area the night before.

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said authorities were first alerted by the public of the bodies floating in the lake near the Sri Siva Muneeswarar temple at about 5.30pm.

Two bodies were recovered at 6.15pm. The third was found at 8pm.

The bodies have been sent to Selayang Hospital.

Sentul OCPD ACP Zakaria Pagan said the three victims, locals and in their 30's, were fully clothed and had no sign of injury on their bodies.

Police have classified the case as sudden death.

"We are looking into the possibility that they may have been connected to an operation targeting addicts in the area near the lake on Saturday night. They may have tried to run away.

"We will question the other drug addicts we arrested to see if those three were in their group," he said.
