KUALA LUMPUR - Police have arrested a small-framed woman for allegedly discarding a foetus behind Julia Apartment in Bandar Baru Selayang.

Police forensics team arrived at the scene around 10.50pm on Saturday.

The woman, said to be in her 20s, wore a face mask as she led police to the site where she allegedly buried it.

She was brought to the police station to facilitate investigations after the foetus was recovered.

A resident who requested anonymity, said the woman was married with two children, aged between two and five.

"She lived with her husband and kids on the first floor but we knew little of them," she added.

It was alleged that the woman had been taking medications to induce a miscarriage as the family was not able to support a third child.

It is believed that she buried the foetus following a miscarriage in her bathroom two weeks ago.

When contacted, Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Ali Ahmad confirmed a report had been lodged, and that investigations were ongoing.
