"Incredibly rewarding," is how Clare Chan, the co-owner of Her Velvet Vase, describes her journey of running the online store.
She oversees it with her sister, Magdalene Chan, who is currently studying at Parsons School of Design.
The sisters set up the store on Livejournal in 2007, due to the limited clothing options they felt that Singapore had.
They said the response they received for their first launch was "pretty outstanding".
Their first self-manufactured piece was a Kate Moss inspired dress, which they designed and produced in 2008 - much earlier than a majority of online stores.
And they have been highly successful since then.
The sisters, who are still maintaining their seven-figure annual revenue, are clearly passionate about what they do.
They maintain that they greatly enjoy creating their own unique designs, and love creating their own boundaries.
The elder sister says: "We love the creative freedom we have in designing our own pieces, and the most rewarding part would be watching customers confidently wear manufactured apparel by Her Velvet Vase."
