The Star/ANN | Monday, May 12, 2014

PETALING JAYA - A 21-year-old air-conditioning repairman died instantly after falling from a building in Taipan, Subang Jaya.

Lai Kiang Bin, from Sarawak, was fixing an air-conditioning unit with a colleague when he slipped and fell at about 1.40pm on Saturday.

He was pronounced dead on the spot by medical personnel from University Malaya Medical Centre.

Lai died from a fractured skull and broken left ribs. The two-storey fall had also left him with a broken spine.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Ramli said police did not find any evidence to indicate foul play.

"The case has been classified as sudden death," he added.

Lai's family members were too distraught to make any comments when met at the mortuary yesterday morning.

A bereaved female relative was seen wailing and calling out Lai's name while others tried to console her.

It is believed that relatives have sent Lai's body back to his hometown in Miri.
