PETALING JAYA - A three-month-old baby girl died at a daycare centre in Bandar Utama.

Police said there were no clear signs of abuse on the child but they were investigating the cause of death.

Petaling Jaya OCPD ACP Azmi Abu Kassim said they received an emergency call from the daycare centre at 1.58pm yesterday and found the infant to be unconscious.

"The baby was pronounced dead at the daycare centre. But we have yet to determine the cause of death.

"A post-mortem will be performed on Tuesday (today)," ACP Azmi said.

He said the child was fed milk by her mother at about 9am yesterday and was dropped off at the daycare centre in reportedly healthy condition, half an hour later.

The child was among 29 other children being watched over by the centre at the time, which has been operating here for eight years now.

Six nannies were working at the centre during the baby's time of death.

ACP Azmi said the police had yet to classify the case as the cause of death had not been established yet.
