PETALING JAYA, Malaysia - Malaysia will protest if the Suzuki Cup ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) tournament scheduled at the National Stadium in Singapore is switched to the Jalan Besar Stadium.

The FA of Malaysia (FAM) secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said they won't agree to play on an artificial pitch.

"We will play on grass in any venue but not in an artificial pitch," said Hamidin at a press conference at the Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya.

It is learnt that the Thailand FA are also unhappy if the tournament switches to Jalan Besar. The plan for the switch was mooted due to the current poor condition of the pitch at the National Stadium.

Singapore and Vietnam wil co-host the Suzuki Cup AFF tournament from Nov 20 to Dec 20. Malaysia are drawn in Group A with Myanmar (Nov 23), Thailand (Nov 26) and Singapore (Nov 29).

The national team under coach Dollah Salleh will report for centralised training in Johor Baru from Nov 3-10. They will play Syria in an 'A' international friendly at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Nov 11.
