The Star/ANN | Wednesday, Aug 6, 2014

Datuk Shaharuddin Ibrahim, the deputy director-general of the Royal Malaysian Customs, was travelling to his office in the administrative capital of Putrajaya when he was killed in a shooting that had the hallmarks of a professional hit.

KUALA LUMPUR - The main suspect in the murder of Customs deputy director-general Datuk Shaharuddin Ibrahim has been implicated in at least two other crimes in Selangor.

Among the cases the 30-year-old suspect has been connected to is a recent robbery at a convenience store in Kajang, CID chief SAC Gan Kong Meng said yesterday.

Shaharuddin was gunned down in his 4WD at a traffic light junction in Lebuh Sentosa by two men on a motorbike on April 26 last year.

Meanwhile, city police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Tajudin Md Isa announced the promotion of four deputy superintendents who will form the core of the contingent's newly formed crime prevention and community safety department.

The newly appointed superintendents are Supt Choo Lily, Supt Zainal Abidin Atan, Supt Datin Hajjah Zaiton Md Noor and Supt Noraziah Zakaria.
