Teen lies about being kidnapped to get a handphone

The Star/ANN | Joash Ee De Silva, Ng Si Hooi and A. Raman | Wednesday, Jun 11, 2014

A 15-year-old boy lied about being kidnapped to his family so that they would buy him a handphone, reported China Press.

The boy told them that he was abducted by a gang of five people in front of his school in Jalan Hang Tuah at about 1pm last Friday before being brought to a house in Bukit Tinggi, Klang. He claimed that he then managed to escape from the house.

After relating the story to his family, the boy was taken to a police station to lodge a report.

However, according to sources, the investigation showed that the boy had made up the story because he wanted them to reward him with a handphone for "escaping" from the kidnappers.
