MALACCA - A Chinese tourist sustained serious injuries when he attempted to protect his wife from snatch thieves at Jonker Walk here.

The 49-year-old man from Fujian province was clobbered by six men in three motorcycles at 6am on Sunday morning, said state deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Shah Gzali Khan Shahadat.

"My husband tried to protect me from being attacked by the six men, who tried to grab our sling bags,' the traumatised 52-year-old wife said.
