Bus services affected by Orchard Road Pedestrian Night

AsiaOne | Monday, Sep 29, 2014

SINGAPORE - SMRT bus services 77, 106, 167, 171, 190, 700A, and 972 will be diverted on the first Saturday of each month.

This will take place starting from Oct 4, 2014 to Mar 7, 2015, from 6pm to 11pm due to road closure for the Pedestrian Night on Orchard Road.

The bus services will skip two bus stops, Tang Plaza and Lucky Plaza.

The 660m stretch from shopping centres Ion Orchard to Ngee Ann City, or between the Scotts Road/Paterson Road junction and Bideford Road, will be closed to all vehicles during Pedestrian Night.

Shoppers can cross the street from Lucky Plaza to Ion Orchard without worrying about oncoming vehicles.

A range of activities have been planned for the monthly event, including street tennis, music performances, a mass yoga session and Christmas carnival, reported The Straits Times.
