Any regulations for masseurs?

The Straits Times | Friday, Apr 25, 2014

My mother pulled her thigh muscles last November. She has yet to fully recover, so I went online to search for masseurs who make house calls, hoping they could help in the healing process.

My search turned up more than 50 entries.

Some masseurs claimed to have at least four to five years of experience; others said they specialised in post-natal massage and treating sports injuries.

It seems that anybody can claim to be a masseur.

How can they prove they have the relevant expertise? Are there regulations on who can post advertisements online to offer such services?
