Chinese acrobats in high-flying act at Sentosa

The New Paper | Monday, Feb 3, 2014

SINGAPORE - Pictured above are the members of the Zhengzhou Star Acrobatics Troupe rehearsing for their performance in front of the Merlion attraction in Sentosa as part of the resort island's Chinese New Year celebrations.

Using suspended wire-frame cubes, the acrobats formed different shapes that symbolise happiness and goodwill during a performance at the festival village at Merlion Plaza to Beach Station in Sentosa.

The troupe also performed a heart-thumping routine, the Flying Ropes, in which performers swung gracefully on ropes in mid-air.

Members of the public were treated to several other acts, like the Baoding Flowers Lion Dance Team, during the performance that took place on Feb 1 and 2, from 11am to 9.30pm.
