Police called in after 2 couples argue over stroller at Sembawang MRT Station

Two couples got into a heated argument after a stroller knocked into a commuter at Sembawang MRT Station two days ago (29 Oct) at around 3.30pm.

According to Lianhe Wanbao, a witness who did not want to be named told reporters that a young woman's baby stroller knocked into an older woman. The latter then fell on the floor.

Not only did the young woman not apologize, she also kept insisting that she was not at fault and proceeded to shout and point at the older woman.

The witness continued:

"People who were at the scene all said that the younger woman was to blame for the episode. How could she just push her stroller in this manner even if she wanted to go across the gantry?"

The husbands of both women also started to argue with each other. At one point the young woman's husband shouted: "So what do you want now"?

3 MRT staff and a security guard had to intervene to prevent the argument from escalating.

The police were then called in; much to the surprise of onlookers as they thought this was only a small matter that can be resolved with an apology.

Both couples were then given a warning by the police and left the station thereafter.
