The Straits Times | Wednesday, Aug 27, 2014

Close to 300 participants tried to keep a shuttlecock in play in a bid to smash the Singapore record for the most number of unique hits in a badminton rally at Changi City Point on 24 August 2014.

Some lunged towards the net, others stretched backwards. Close to 300 participants tried to keep a shuttlecock in play in a bid to smash the Singapore record for the most number of unique hits in a badminton rally yesterday. The record was broken at the 60th attempt, at 119 hits, shattering the old Singapore mark of 96 and was one hit shy of the current world record. Event sponsor Hanwell donated 9,520kg of rice to low- income families based on the number of hits.
