Caught on camera: Dog's leash gets caught between lift doors

A dog owner in Toronto, Canada, posted a disturbing video of her pet Rottweiler hanging by its collar after its leash got stuck between lift doors.

The woman posted the video to warn other pet owners of the potential dangers when taking leashed pets on elevators, reports Prevent Disease.

Ryerson University student Tamara Seibert was taking the elevator to the ground floor of her building when one of her dogs' leashes got caught between the lift doors.

As the lift began to move, she noticed her Rottweiler's leash being dragged by the lift's momentum, so she started to pull on it.

The dog, named Vlado, was almost immediately hoisted into the air by his collar.

The video shows Seibert frantically clawing at his collar and pushing the elevator buttons, trying to open the doors as her dog hung in the air.

The dog is seen struggling as well, pawing at the door as his owner tried her best to rip his metal collar off.

After about 30 seconds, the elevator doors opened and the dog fell to the floor. The two dogs are then seen running out of the elevator as Seibert held the doors open with her feet, cradling one hand in the other.

The skin on her hands were reportedly torn open by the dog's metal collar.

When she found out a closed-circuit video camera recorded the entire incident, Seibert requested a copy of the tape, and posted it to her Facebook page as a warning to others.
