MH17 crash: M'sia PM Najib arrives in the Netherlands to meet Dutch PM

AMSTERDAM - Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak arrived here for discussions with his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte over securing safe access to the MH17 crash site in eastern Ukraine.

He is meeting Mr Rutte at his office in The Hague, after which they will issue a joint press conference.

Datuk Seri Najib and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, will later leave for Hilversum to lay flowers outside the medical military base where the remains of MH17 victims are being examined.

He will be briefed on the disaster victim identification (DVI) by DVI chief Arie de Bruin near the military base.

Among those who welcomed Mr Najib upon arrival were Deputy Foreign Minister Hamzah Zainuddin, Health Minister Seri S. Subramaniam, Malaysia Airlines chief executive Ahmad Jauhari Yahya and Malaysian Ambassador to the Netherlands Fauziah Mohd Taib.

Others included Department of Civil Aviation director-general Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, National Security Council MH17 mission head Khairil Hilmi Mokhtar and Malaysian disaster victim identification (DVI) team leader Mohd Shah Mahmood.
