ALL Nurul Syaza Fadzil, 13, wanted was to have some nasi lemak.

The Secondary 2 girl claimed she had been held captive by more than 10 youths, in their teens and early 20s, who were planning to sell her off as a nightclub hostess, reported Harian Metro.

Syaza's alleged one-week ordeal began when she went out of her home in Kampung Nakhoda near Batu Caves to buy nasi lemak.

On the way, she met a friend whom she recognised as Ola, 13.

Ola persuaded her to accompany her to a nearby shopping complex to buy some clothes.

Syaza told Harian Metro: 'I was reluctant to go with her because I had never been out alone or even with friends, without a family member.

THREATENED

'But she threatened that she and her friend would beat me up if I didn't do as she said.'

Syaza went along with Ola as the friend with her was a known gang member.

Syaza said Ola then introduced her to two female friends in their 20s, one of whom was identified as Kak Erin.

According to Syaza, she was then taken to an apartment near Pudu Prison, where more than 10 young men were holed up.

There, she claimed, she was denied food and beaten up for not sniffing glue as ordered by her captors.

'I was kept in a room on the fourth storey and slapped for not joining them in sniffing glue and drinking alcohol,' alleged Syaza.

She said she believed the flat was owned by Kak Erin.

Syaza claimed the place was being used as a headquarters for a group of drug-takers and alcohol-drinkers.

The men were all dressed in black and white, as if they were in uniform, she said.

'I was taken to a shopping centre nearby to buy clothes in the same colour. They used money that they got from selling my handphone and took the RM20 ($8.75) that I had.'

Syaza believed the group earned their money by threatening people in the area. She estimated that they raked in about RM500 a day.

She said: 'I was afraid and kept quiet because I couldn't find a way to escape or contact my family.'

The girl said there were three other female victims.

'They included a 17-year-old girl who had been sold to become a nightclub hostess.'

The gang members told Syaza that she would be sold in the next few days to a nightclub in the Kuala Lumpur area.

'A few days later, I was taken out of the flat to be sold in Damansara. But while waiting at the apartment block for the van to arrive, my father came to my rescue,' said Syaza.

Her father, Mr Fadzil Bakar, 53, told Harian Metro that a friend who works in the village council told him where Syaza was.

Mr Fadzil said he and his friend reached the apartment at about 8.30pm on Wednesday, just minutes before Syaza was to be transported to Damasara.

He said: 'The gang members, who are just 'kids', ran away when they saw us.'

He took Syaza home and then lodged a police report.

Superintendent Abdul Karim Abu Hassan, the Gombak police chief, said the police have interviewed Syaza and were investigating the case.

Supt Abdul Karim said: 'The victim was sent to Selayang Hospital for examination to see if there was any sexual assault. We are still awaiting the outcome of the examination.'
