A CHINESE national was jailed for three weeks on Friday for hurling a rice cooker from the fourth-floor of a block of flats.

Zhong Rongfu, 27, a cleaner, admitted to the rash act to endanger life at Block 473B Changi Road on Feb 22.

A 43-year-old man was having a meal with his friends at the coffeeshop in front of Block 475 when the rice cooker pot hit the bonnet of a car. They then heard a dispute at Block 473B.

Shortly later, the whole rice cooker landed near them and the complainant saw a man wearing a white T-shirt looking down and returning to his flat. Police came and arrested Zhong.

He could have been jailed for up to six months or fined up to $2,500 or both for committing a rash act.
