SELANGOR, MALAYSIA - A father was shocked to find he had run over his only child, a one-year-old baby girl, while reversing his car from the driveway of his house on Monday night.

Selangor traffic police chief Supt Che Hussin Omar said the incident occurred at 7.30pm in Taman Mas, Hulu Langat, as the man, 32, was leaving for work.

'The man thought his baby girl was with his wife inside the house when he was reversing the car. He heard a weird sound and got down to inspect and saw his daughter under the car,' he said.

The father rushed his daughter, Lin Yu Tham, to the nearest clinic where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Supt Che Hussin said the case was being investigated under Section 304 (a) of the Penal Code for causing death without intention.
