KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - A businessman in Taman Mastira wants to know why police have not acted on a closed-circuit television camera footage of a crime that he claimed he had sent them.

Abdul Kadir Mohd Sultan, 49, said his family had yet to be notified of the progress in the investigations into three crimes he claimed he caught on CCTV.

He said he installed the CCTV in front of his home earlier this year for his family's safety as there were many robberies and break-ins in the housing area.

His 25-year-old daughter, Syarifah Rodziyah, was robbed in front of their house on Oct 10. In an earlier incident on Sept 11, two men were filmed dismantling the front window of his Toyota Wish.

However, the men fled in a motorcycle after the vehicle's alarm system was triggered.

At the time of the incident, Kadir and his wife Jamaeyah Mohd Basir had just entered their home with some groceries.

In March, another of his cars was broken into at 3am.

Kadir said recordings of all three incidents were handed over to police when the family lodged reports after each incident.

Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner Zakaria Pagan said police were investigating the cases.

He said he would be meeting residents of the housing estate soon to discuss the crime rate and provide them crime prevention tips.
