MALAYSIA - TAMIL newspapers condemned the attacks in Mumbai which have left over 120 innocents dead.

In its editorial, Tamil Nesan said the attacks in India's commercial capital came as a shock and disappointment.

It said it was clear that the terrorists were not only targeting locals but were also shooting tourists in several areas.

It said the Indian defence and intelligence units should have been more vigilant and step up their action against the terrorists.

"What have they (the terrorists) benefitted from by killing the people?" Makkal Osai asked.

It noted that the terrorists had started their attacks in Uttar Pradesh last November followed by another attack in Jaipur.
