JOHOR BARU, MALAYSIA: A 25-year-old undertaker - just four months into his job - was set upon by his business rivals over a failed deal.

The victim Ang Mou Koon, who claimed that he suffered bruises all over his body and received several stitches on his face, said he had gotten into an argument with four men from other undertaker companies at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital mortuary at 2am here on Wednesday.

"They then beat me up. I was punched on my right eye, my stomach and also beaten on the back of my head. A colleague had to send me to hospital.

"I am very shocked over the incident and hope police will take action as soon as possible," he said, adding that it was "bad luck" to be beaten up after only four months on the job.

Ang later lodged a report at the Central police station.

Johor Baru (South) OCPD Asst Comm Zainuddin Yaakob confirmed the report, adding that no arrest had been made yet.

He urged those with information to contact 07-2212999 or the nearest police station. --The Star/ANN
