A trackrider fell from his horse at the Singapore Racecourse this morning and died.

Mr Asaad Bin Makmang, 48, was riding his horse, Maxim Gun, near the 1,300m mark on the fibresand track at the Singapore Racecourse during trackwork at about 6.15am today when he fell.

"The Club's ambulance, which was at the scene, immediately went up to him. The medical personnel who attended to him, found him unconscious and not breathing. He was rushed to the Singapore General Hospital after unsuccessful attempts to resuscitate him," said a statement from the Singapore Turf Club.
