Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong takes on questions after making his ministerial speech this afternoon in Parliament.

PM Lee answers three questions from MP Low Thia Khiang.

Are Singaporeans too complacent? Are they expecting too much of the government?

"The complacency was in the WRDC. I think it's true Singaporeans have a high expectation of the Government and therefore, when there's a lapse, they take it very seriously. ... In Singapore, things do not go wrong and we make sure things work when something messes up. We take it very seriously , the public takes it very seriously and that is a fact. And I think that is not a bad thing."

Does the Prime Minister see fit for his government to apologise for the lapses that resulted in Mas Selamat's escape?

"Apologising, that was the first thing which Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng did as DPM on the first day after this occurred and I think that is adequate. I would say that when the DPM speaks, he speaks on behalf of the government."
