Tighter security for air cargo

A NEW initiative to enhance air cargo security on commercial passenger aircraft was officially launched at the Singapore Aviation Academy on Monday.

Air cargo companies which are registered under the Regulated Air Cargo Agent Regime, are required to carry out security measures such as X-rays and documentation of their consignments.

This will subject them to only random screenings at airfreight terminals.
