At least four escalator accidents involving kids wearing rubber sandals were reported in four months in 2006. -TNP
LAST month, a two-year-old girl had two of her toe nails ripped out after her sandal was caught between the steps of an escalator at Funan DigitaLife Mall. Her large toe required stitches. IN November 2006, a two-year-old girl had her big toe ripped off after her right rubber clog was caught in an escalator at Admiralty Place, a mall in Woodlands. The right toe was found nearly three hours later but could not be re-attached as it was too badly damaged. AT least four escalator accidents involving kids wearing rubber sandals were reported in four months in 2006. The bones in the second toe of one boy, 4, broke into four after his left foot was trapped on an escalator at Bugis Junction. His wound needed more than 20 stitches.
