A SUB-CONTRACTOR beat the red lights at a signalised pedestrian crossing and caused the death of a woman pedestrian.

Ong Woo Meng, 45, was driving a lorry along the extreme right of New Upper Changi Road on Oct 21 last year when he failed to stop at the traffic red light signal.

His lorry hit Madam Tang Peck Ngim, 54, who was flung forward and landed in the middle of the road.
