The new and swanky Madrasah Al-Irsyad in Braddell took in 900 primary and secondary school students on Monday.

Having moved from its temporary premises in Windstedt Road, the school now occupies an eight-storey $16 million building within the up-and-coming Singapore Islamic Hub, which will soon house the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis) and a mosque there.

Al-Irsyad executive director Razak Mohamed Lazim said the new school offers facilities and high-tech learning tools such as interactive boards and even electronic recorders. The madrasah will also introduce new programmes to enhance its curriculum.
