The New Paper

THE point is not who made the mistake. The fact is that my race did not change overnight.

I have always identified myself as a Eurasian.

We are taught social studies in school and about our unique multi-racial society and respecting one another's race and religion.

I hope my wish to have the record amended is also respected. It remains a mistake that stands to be corrected.

The campaign about having a gracious society should be led by example.

I have a voice that should be heard. It is about me and my identity only.

It is based on facts. Fact is, I am a Eurasian. Fact is, the records are wrong.

Why? How? It does not matter. Let's move forward, not backwards.

Thank you,

Samuel Wittberger
