THE Education Ministry will not lower standards across the board in its attempt to make sure that students weaker in the Chinese Language master it.

Instead, efforts would be made to help every student learn the language to as high a level as they go, said Senior Minister of State for National Development and Education Grace Fu in Parliament on Wednesday.

She also announced some changes: MOE will provide schools with a high concentration of students from English speaking homes with an additional Chinese Language teacher, on top of the two extra ones all primary schools get since 2007 for the Chinese modular curriculum.
