No coup: Thai deputy PM

Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban Sunday night expressed confidence that there would be no coup.

He said the government declared the state of emergency in time to control the situation after the red-shirted movement planned to create political disturbances.

Speaking to reporters at 7:20 pm, he said the government managed to control the situation much better.
