Cop denies outraging modesty of inspector

PETALING JAYA - A policeman claimed trial to using criminal force with the intention of outraging the modesty of a female probationary inspector here last month.

L/Kpl Yusri Yusof, 35, was charged at the magistrate's court here with committing the offence at the detective's office of a narcotics division here at about 5.35pm on May 26.

Magistrate Ho Kwong Chin set bail at RM6,000 (S$2481) with one surety and set Aug 25 for mention.

Earlier, prosecuting officer C/Insp Azaidi Ab Latib sought for a RM10,000 bail but L/Kpl Yusri pleaded for a lesser bail as he had to take care of his two wives and seven children.

He is liable to a maximum 10-year jail term or fine or whipping or any two punishment.
