SINGAPORE'S fourth university, the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), which will open next year, is in talks to collaborate with the Singapore Management University (SMU), Education Minister Ng Eng Hen said yesterday. The two schools could work together to offer student exchanges, joint research projects, elective courses and co-curricular activities, among others.

In its last two admission exercises, the SUTD has attracted the top 10 per cent of the population, and faculty members have been recruited from top overseas universities, including Harvard, he added.
