IF THE departure of Lost and 24 from TV land has created a huge hole in your life, leaving you searching for a replacement, fear not: The Event is here.

In the way that success breeds clones in Hollywood, hit television series also end up looking more like one another after a while. The Event, therefore, is like Lost, 24, Alias, Heroes, FlashForward and The X-Files, all rolled into one.

The main guy we're supposed to care about is Sean Walker (played by Jason Ritter, a marginal James Marsden knock-off), who gets embroiled in a plane-as-bomb presidential assassination attempt, after his girlfriend vanishes without a trace while they are on vacation.
