The Singaporean paddlers had been in contact with a confirmed Influenza A (H1N1) case. -ST
By Valerie Chia SINGAPOREAN paddlers Tay Jit Kiat and Clarence Chew were set to start their Asian Youth Games campaign against the Philippines in the mixed team event earlier on Wednesday.
Both boys were prevented from taking part in the competition and asked to leave the Toa Payoh Sports Hall, for they had been identified by the Singapore Asian Youth Games Organising Committee to have been in contact with a confirmed Influenza A (H1N1) case. Subsequent checks and contact tracing showed Jit Kiat and Clarence did not have sustained exposure to the confirmed case during the infectious period.
