$18,000 in cash, items stolen in cafe break-in

Staff of Fosters - The English Rose Cafe arrived for work on Monday morning to find their front door tampered with.

On further inspection, they discovered that over $18,000 worth of cash and equipment were missing, said police.

A portable safe containing $2,000 in cash and almost $13,000 in gift vouchers was removed.

The cash register system consisting of a CPU and monitor was also stolen.

Other items stolen included three close-circuit security cameras, 15 bottles of hard liquor worth $700 and a sound system worth $600.
