EATING balanced meals is good for health.

Meals should be 40 per cent carbohydrates, 30 per cent protein and 30 per cent fat.

However, it is difficult for most people to track the proportion of nutrients in the food they eat.

It would be good if schools could help students be more conscious about the type of food they eat by displaying the nutritional information of dishes served in school canteens.

Supermarkets could also label food items on the shelves so that consumers could be better informed.
